Producing quality hard & softwood timber

Evergreen Timbers

Established in 2006, the Evergreen Timbers’ sawmill  is a joint venture sawmill located in Crammond, KZN. The sawmill processes locally sourced and sustainably grown pine from across the province, primarily from the JV partners Plennegy Pidelta and Evergreen Forestry.

The sawmill delivers a logistically beneficial take-off point for the group’s pine logs in the KZN midlands, offering access to both export & interior markets. Crammond Sawmill currently runs two sawmill lines with a third line currently under development.

OUR story

Quality saw-milling for the furniture & structural timber markets.

Evergreen Timbers serves a small roster of clients domestically and internationally, with most client relationships spanning several years.

The company has honed its production process and output significantly since inception, and today employs 140 skilled staff from the local community, with an intake of 120 cubic meters of pine logs per shift.

Evergreen Timbers focuses on sawing the finest quality pine logs on the market, which is achieved by growing most of the pine ourselves. We are confident that our structural & furniture timber is exceptional quality.

Maximising the value of every fibre

A wood chipping line was commissioned in 2019 to ensure that full value could be realised from every log. The chipping operation has capacity to produce 3000 tons of chip per month.

Timber that stands the test of time

Evergreen Timbers sources pine logs grown in 18 and 27 year cycles, with Pinus Elliottii and Pinus Patula the predominant species. Much of the pine timber comes from within the Evergreen Group of companies. We select forestry suppliers who follow best practice in their growing to ensure our output is always at an exceptional standard.
